How we earn
Applies to every page of roughodds.com
Someone pays for the firewood. Canadian competition law calls the arrangement a material connection and requires it disclosed prominently; we'd disclose it anyway, because a journal that hides its funding hasn't earned its reviews.
The arrangement, whole
In short: 888, TonyBet or Betty may pay us when a reader we referred opens an account.
Rough Odds holds affiliate agreements with 888, TonyBet and Betty. Links marked "Visit" a casino carry an anonymous token that tells the operator the visit came from us; if an account follows, a commission may too. The token knows the click happened — it does not know who you are.
The reader's price: zero
Arriving through our door changes nothing on your side of the counter — deposits, odds, offers and terms are identical to walking in directly. The commission is paid out of the operator's marketing budget, not out of your balance.
The wall around the embers
The ember method publishes its complete list of inputs: multiples, scopes, weightings, windows, caps, value forms. Money is not on the list and never visits. An offer that deserves 3.7 embers is printed at 3.7, with the funding banner still overhead.
One operator, said out loud
Rough Odds currently reviews three casinos — 888, TonyBet and Betty — a fact that is both editorial (we'd rather read a few operators completely) and commercial (they pay the commissions). It means our ratings compare these three with each other, not with the whole market. Weigh our words with that on the scale; we do.
Standing commitments
- The disclosure banner tops every page, above every offer, always.
- Referral links carry rel="sponsored" — declared to machines as well as readers.
- No invented reviews, ratings, testimonials or reader counts, anywhere, ever.
- Plain answers to any question about the arrangement: [email protected], subject DISCLOSURE.
